Design Week Favorites

Monday, 13 June, 2011

I know its a bit late but here are my favorite designs that I spotted during Design Week and ICFF. Some of them are new discoveries and a few are old friends whose work I’ve always loved.

Above and below is Escape Landscape Rug Designs founded by Anita Bell from the UK. I love how she translates her native landscape into beautiful abstract rug designs. Best of all she hand knots all the rugs herself. I met her at ICFF and she was amazingly sweet and talented.

At the Sight Unseen Pop-Up Shop there was a lot of cool stuff by designers whose information I did not get.

But my favorite thing was these rope bracelets by furniture and accessory designer Tanya Aguiniga. Nick bought me the red and white one below and I think it makes the perfect summer accessory and the sweetest “yay! ICFF is over” gift.

Also at the Pop-Up Shop was a new Eskayel limited edition scarf. I used a new unreleased pattern and after it was printed on silk I hand dyed the scarf. Hopefully we will have these available soon on our website.

And I really loved the new side tables from Uhuru and lighting by the insanely talented Lindsey Adelman both pictured below and displayed in the great American design building.

Next I wanted to show you the recent works of my friend and fellow wallpaper designer Aimee Wilder. Her new collection is super cute and filled with fun, innovative motifs.

Lastly, here are some works by artist Richard Saja as displayed at The Future Perfect. I’ve loved and admired his decorative embroidery since the moment we met.
