The Selby which I adore ( and some day hope to be featured on ) recently posted a vibrant picture story about Eric Werner of Peasant in NYC, Mya Henry and their beautiful restaurant Hartwood in Tulum Mexico. This got me thinking about a small spa and hotel I have read about several times over the last few years called Coqui Coqui also in Tulum, and since winter in New York refuses to leave, I wish with all my heart I was there right now. Not that I don’t love sitting here at my desk listening to music on the Colette website and designing limited edition scarfs for Sight Unseen’s upcoming design week showcase or planning the Eskayel ICFF booth. These activities feed my soul, but its freezing and raining today and I could really use some sunshine……
AND a luxury hotel experience at the beach like this at Coqui Coqui,
and a fine dining experience like this at Hartwood.
One Kings Lane is an incredible decorating resource and we love to imagine the powder room Andrea Stanford describes in here post about Eskayel wallpapers!
Maya Romanoff, dominating luxurious wallpaper and wall-coverings for the last 30 years.
The first Maya Romanoff flagship showroom of exquisite surface materials has opened at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. I wish it had opened in New York so I could check it out!
Isabel Marant is pretty much my Favorite designer, so this week as I work on some fashion related designs (news soon to come on that) I look to Isabel for inspiration. I even love the music, and am rocking my ESG as I work!
Today we are proud to be the subject of Pure Wow’s international mailing! Please check out the article featuring our new Era Collection of wallpaper, fabric and pillows. Thanks Pure wow!!
A couple weeks ago I was honored to be a part of a photo shoot for NSF clothing. I love this California based brand because their aesthetic is very “me” – luxurious fabrics and knits perfect for an effortless blend of California casual and down town NYC edge.
The photo shoot is part of a project for the NSF Fall 2011 collection look book called For the Love of Making. The project brings together people who have a passion for their creative vocation and just love their work. The photographs of friends and talents were taken in their unique working environments around New York City, while wearing pieces from the NSF Fall 2011 collection. I got to wear a beautiful cashmere cape with a classic plaid button down mixed with my own leggings and footwear. You can see an out take picture of me with fashion stylist Susan Joy below. Award-winning cameraman Ryan Hill was the photographer and working with Nick Friedberg, creater of NSF, and his whole team was an absolute pleasure. The final product of this collective will be used as the official NSF Fall 2011 Men’s and Women’s Lookbook for press, retailers, and consumers.
Ever since RH Gallery opened and announced the artists they would be representing I have been looking forward to Wolfgang Ellenrieder’s solo show. Time is out of Joint opened March 5th and is a stunning collection of paintings on canvas and water color’s on paper. I love the surreal spaces and architectural structures as well as the palette. The show continues through April 19th.
Prop stylist Paige Hicks recently used some of our fabrics for a food shoot. Makes me hungry for danish bleu and apricot preserves right now.
CasaSugar posted about our Era collection of wallpaper, fabric, and pillows today and we are so thankful! Check out CasaSugar for a million tips and inspirations for your home.
Scientists recently discovered a rare, solitary type of bee that makes tiny nests by plastering together flower petals. Each nest is a multicolored, textured little cocoon — a papier-mache husk surrounding a single egg, protecting it while it develops into an adult bee.
If I am ever reincarnated as an insect I want to be one of these bees and begin my little pollinating life inside one of these beautifully decorated pods!
