I just saw these on DailyCandy. I wouldn’t normally re-post something from DailyCandy but these are really amazing!
Domestic Construction is a multi-disciplinary design studio focused on redefining the ordinary. We met the girls from Domestic Construction while working on an upcoming product for Fall that we are very excited about. In the meantime, please help Domestic Construction with this awesome community project that they have up on kickstarter.com. There are only 7 days left, lets help them realize this project!

Since I was raised in San Diego, I was particularly excited to share this with my friends and family who live there.

I never saw the movie La Vie en Rose which is supposed to be about the french singer Edith Piaf’s life, but I heard about a new biography by CAROLYN BURKE on NPR and started listening to her music and got the book. I am really enjoying it. Here is a review.
I was at the Whitney the other night for a talk between legendary music mogul, Danny Goldberg and Title TK a band consisting of artist/musicians Cory Arcangel, Howie Chen, and Alan Licht and behind them during the talk this Cy Twombly painting was hanging. I admit I was never a huge fan of his work until now, since his recent passing his work has been everywhere, and the Whitney has many of his works from their collection hanging around the building in memorandum. The painting above is Untitled, 1969 and I think its genius. To me it is like a description of reality and how everyone is experiencing different levels of reality in the same moment.

On July 23, One Mile Gallery in Kingston NY was a packed house for the FOOLSGOLD SANCTUARY auction to benefit CAS. Over 50 artists displayed their work inspired by the animals of CAS, and dozens braved an intense heat wave to show their support. At the end of the night, $4400 (46% of proceeds) was raised for the farm animal friends – that can buy an entire month’s worth of grain!
