Our friend, designer Thomas Altamirano of Studio Alta used our Akimbo 5 – greyscale wallpaper in this chic Brooklyn apartment makeover. “My concept was to frame and highlight existing architecture, which we did with dark-gray painted walls and graphic wallpaper.” The space is super unique — mixing his client’s “modern macabre style with a dash of retro femininity.” Check out the entire feature on Refinery 29′s “How To Make Your Place Look AWESOME.”

We are excited to be giving 1% of our monthly profits from May to Mission Blue. After watching Sylvia Earle’s 2009 TED Prize wish we just knew we wanted to support this amazing program.

If you missed us last week during design week at ICFF here are a few shots of our wildly patterned booth. Check out this lovely article from Tree Hugger for more pics.
We love that Eskayel’s Biami-hide pillow and wallpaper is featured in the May issue of ELLE Décor Denmark. We can’t read it, but we love it!
Last night a few of us went to Stained, this years Sewing Seeds fundraiser at the Dumbo Loft. Artist Cara Piazza was responsible for the curation of this sensory experience that allowed visitors to engage with natural dyes through the lens of experimentation, ritual and performance. We got to try a cool coffee scrub on our hands and even the food was cleverly chosen so that the waste products could be used to dye!
We’re feeling totally inspired to do some natural dyeing!
Our recent collaboration with Michelle Zacks of SPACEDOUT for the suite at the Playland Motel in Rockaway has been featured on Lonny, Domaine Home and Cool Hunting.
This week has been a busy week in press for Eskayel. New York Mag’s Design Hunting issue featured The Playland Suite and the Playland Capsule Collection in “Eat, Sweat, Sleep, Lounge” story (page 71).
Below // We are also in the June issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine where our Splash – pool pillow is highlighted as one of the ways to add color to a room when turning your place into a home.
