Aquarelle

The Aquarelle Collection

While watercolor artist Shanan Campanaro and professional surfer Kassia Meador initially connected in the ocean, they quickly found common footing in their creative pursuits. This led to a unique collaboration, Aquarelle, a painterly abstract wallpaper that shines a light on the transformative power of water. Named for the French term for watercolor, the Aquarelle pattern got its start as an expressive painting of rivers meeting the sea as viewed from above. The aerial perspective, watercolor wash, and fluid, painterly lines tell an immersive story of the impact of water on the earth as well as on the mind.

In kicking off the collaboration, Kassia’s vision was a print that would embody water’s impact – the effects it produces on the earth as well as the impression it leaves on the mind. “When Kassia told me she wanted to explore the idea of earth and water colliding, it felt perfect for my style of painting,” Shanan says. “She sent me beautiful photos of rivers, snow, mud, and cracked earth. The series of paintings I made became Aquarelle.”
